Festival Frenzy- Day 1

Cheering on Cheltenham from the comfort of our desks!

One of the obvious benefits of working for a world-renowned manufacturer of performance equestrian and sports fencing is being able to work for a great company with an excellent portfolio and global recognition… the second is having the perfect excuse to keep up with the Cheltenham Festival. By ‘keep up with’, we mean sitting on the edge of our seats, shouting ‘ComeeeeOnnnn!!’ at our screens, followed by a spell of admiring our brilliant white fencing across the broadcasting!

Winners in the bag.

Why ‘study the form’ when you have a faithful friend, who can do it for you and then give you the tips?! This has so far worked in our favour with My Tent or Yours coming in with a nice second place and Quevega taking the title of the Mares Hurdles for a record sixth time! In fact, our on site man even got a winning smile from jockey, Ruby Walsh on his return from the course.

Our Conor races his last race.

However, a sad turn of events reminded us how horse racing is most definitely a sport for the brave, as Our Conor took a hard fall over the fence. He was attended by veterinary professionals who deemed that he had sustained back injuries and was then humanely put to sleep to ease his suffering.
