Balustrade and Birthday Bakes!

When applying for the job at Duralock, there was no mention in the company handbook of the protocol around birthdays. However, it is certainly one that should be included, as it would draw people in from far and wide.

This September has been a month full of birthdays and any of us here at Duralock in Enstone, trying to diet have been well and truly thwarted in our efforts.

Firstly, it was Sarah’s birthday. Sarah has been with us now since the early days of the company and so as such, a celebration was in order! We all gathered together and in true Duralock style, ate cake! This tradition was to continue further in the week for our newbie, Abi’s, birthday. Then it was Joe’s turn as he celebrates his birthday next week but is taking a well-deserved holiday. Happy Birthday for then, Joe, have a great one!

Around all this munching, we have also been extremely hard at work! The guys in the warehouse have been hard at it, preparing an order for movable picket barriers to go out to Scarlets rugby club in Wales, ready for their upcoming event! In fact, ‘movable’ seems to be the flavour of the month, with containers being loaded for an order of movable post and rail barriers which are to head out to Singapore.

Continuing the worldwide theme, our Managing Director, Jeremy Seel, is also getting straight to business in the East, where he has been at the Chinese Equine Cultural Festival and then headed off to HORFA in Shanghai. He has been meeting with our clients and showcasing our great PVC fencing! In fact, only today we received this fantastic image of the Hohhot grounds in Mongolia and if we say so ourselves, it really is looking great!

Over in France, our fencing has been featured in the Jour de Galop, which is very exciting. Our French representative, Jean-Phillippe, sent over a copy of the article which we are in the progress of getting translated, so that you can all have a read. (Keep an eye out, we will hopefully be posting it next week!) The article focusses on the Steeple Chase at the Bordeaux racecourse which has been completely rebuilt using the finest Duralock products! It was important for them that the jumps would be safe and low maintenance… naturally we were the perfect choice!  On that note, today is an exciting day, as today, it will be raced for the very first time! We wish the best of luck to the competitors and to the betters, buy us a drink with your winnings?

We hope you have all had a fantastic week and don’t forget to check out our last post ‘Locked In With…’, and get to know Wayne, our warehouse manager here at Duralock. Keep an eye out to see who will be up for the challenge next week!
